"There are plenty of teams in every sport that have great players and never win titles. Most of the time, those players aren't willing to sacrifice for the greater good of the team. The funny thing is, in the end, their unwillingness to sacrifice only makes individual goals more difficult to achieve. One thing I believe to the fullest is that if you think and achieve as a team, the individual accolades will take care of themselves. Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships." -- MICHAEL JORDAN

ABOUT US

Welcome to the BIRDS' Official Website!

LARRY'S BIRDS (aka Los Birds or simply the Birds) is a Fil-Am basketball team whose players are mostly from the Stamford, Connecticut area. Since inception, the Birds' Captain is Lawrence Raguindin.

The BIRDS continue to participate in annual Fil-Am basketball leagues hosted by FALConn (Kabayan Cup) during the Winter and CAFAF (Luzviminda Cup) in the Summer.

Also, the BIRDS have participated in numerous sports/tournaments other than basketball.  Most recently, the 2010 Bowling Tournament hosted by FALConn.  Some players also represented the BIRDS in the first ever Kabaka Poker Tournament hosted by KABAKA.org, where two of the BIRDS' players (Edzel Aglibut and Morris Corpuz) took top honors (Champion and 1st Runner Up, respectively).

On December 11, 2010, the BIRDS, among other teams, received recognition at the 2010 Sports Awards Night -- an event successfully hosted by FALConn.  Two of the team's players (Lawrence Raguindin and Brian Uy) also received special awards for their solid contribution to the BIRDS' successful basketball season.
